Short story writing, once practiced by all the great authors, is almost a lost art. Unlike a novel, the short story format gives the author little time, or space, to create his characters, tell his story and pique the reader's interest. Still, there's nothing in the world much better than reading a wonderfully crafted short story. Masters ranging from Guy de Maupassant, Carson McCullers and even Ian Fleming wrote wonderful short stories that hold their own against every form of literature. While I don't compare myself to the masters, I strive to write stories that will hook readers and introduce them to this wonderful genre. If you haven't already, I urge you to Google 'short stories,' and then immerse yourself in some of the best and most enjoyable writing you'll likely ever read.
